Power Generation Excellence in Health and Safety Awards 2006 Power Generation This is the first year of the new 'Excellence in Health and Safety Awards' within ESB Power Generation and it replaces the earlier annual Safety Awards. The new Awards, which use a new and very comprehensive methodology to rank entrants, underline Power Generation's commitment to safety across the business. Speaking at the announcement of the winners, Executive Director, Pat O'Doherty, congratulated the winners and all the participants in the competition. "These new Awards generated a lot of interest across the business. The Safety Committee and the organisers were very heartened by the high level of participation and the quality of the entries," he said. "The new Awards represent a rising of the bar in this area for our business and we can expand on them in the coming years. Congratulations to the winning teams, particularly the overall winners in Erne, they have set a very high standard for others to follow," he concluded. An Awards Presentation Ceremony, at which all the winners and participants will be able to celebrate their success, is planned for sometime in May. EM |
