ESB Networks launches Enterprise Audit System (EAS) ESB Networks has been developing a modularised IT system to provide a consolidated view of
contractor and staff performance in the areas of Safety Management, Quality and Environment. Background It was apparent to ESB Network Projects and ITS that the proposed system had equal application in the areas of Environment and Quality. It was also apparent that an IT system could be developed to consolidate a view of contractor performance over a range of targets. As there was an immediate demand in ESB Network Projects to have a system to manage Quality Control of contractors, the first phase of the proposed application was to develop a Quality Performance Audit System. ESB Network Services saw that with slight modification, the Enterprise Audit System (EAS) would be a good fit to manage their own quality auditing and came on board at this stage. The project team consisted of Larry O'Sullivan, ESB Networks IT, Ray Aherne and Niall Lynch, ESB Network Projects, Val Warren, ESB Network Services, Dave Leonard, Tom Savage and Mary O'Sullivan, IT Solutions. EAS is a single pan-ESB Networks system capable of readily providing consolidated and aggregated information. The Enterprise Audit System (EAS) is a web based audit management system. It allows ESB Networks to manage all stages of the audit process from entry to information dissemination. The Enterprise Audit System:
The first module of this application relates only to Quality Auditing of overhead and underground network in ESB Network Services and ESB Network Projects. The specification of the IT system is so generic that the EAS could have applications for any business line in ESB. The results of quality audits are entered on EAS by the auditors. The status of the audit remains 'open' until corrective action is taken to rectify all defects found during audit. The data base is used as a tool to provide:
EAS Reports Once an audit type is chosen the report can be exported to Excel. This allows for off-line analysis and chart production. A report enables:
EAS is a web application and resides in the ESB intranet site under the ESB Networks applications menu. EM |
