ESB Power Generation EPC Contract for Aghada Project signed

ESB power generation signed the EPC (Engineer, Procure, Construct) contract for the new 430MW station at Aghada with Alstom, the contractors selected for the project, on Friday 13th April, 2007. Now that this contract has been signed and the necessary CER Authorisation and ESB Board and Ministerial Approvals are in place, construction of the new station will begin on site in June 2007. It is expected that the new station will enter commercial operation for Winter 2009.
