Ted Tierney and Noel McDonagh Awards

The presentation of the Ted Tierney and Noel McDonagh Awards took place in the Ashdown Park Hotel Gorey, on Friday, February 29th Tom Nolan, Projects Enniscorthy, was the recipient of the Ted Tierney Award for customer service and David Byrne, Enniscorthy area, was the recipient of the Noel McDonagh Award for excellence in apprentice training. The awards were presented by Ted Tierney, son of the late Ted and Paul McDonagh, brother of the late Noel.

These awards are held annually to commemorate Ted and Noel, who both died while working for ESB customers. Ted and Noel contributed a great deal of time to ESB and also to the communities in which they lived and worked. Their tragic and untimely passing was not only devastating for their families but was a sad loss to all who worked and socialised with them

The nominations for the awards are submitted each year by ESB Networks staff members who believe one of their colleagues deserves wider recognition for either their service to customers or for their work as apprentices.
