New 'Striking the Balance' booklet launched ESB 'striking the Balance' booklet was launched by the Equality & Diversity Office in conjunction with the Joint Equality Council (JEC) in the National Customer Contact Centre in Cork. The purpose of the new booklet is to ensure all staff members and potential staff members are made aware of the wide ranging supports, services, initiatives and fl exibilities that are in place in ESB to help staff in balancing career and other commitments, while also promoting greater work-life balance awareness across the business. Denis Cambridge, Manager, NCCC, commenced proceedings by outlining the diverse mix of staff in NCCC represented by 23 different nationalities with a varied age profile and highlighted the importance of balancing work and other commitments. Joyce Farrell, Equality & Diversity Manager, gave a presentation on the policy booklet and stated that the new booklet demonstrates the company's continued commitment to provide a positive inclusive work environment and that it recognises the importance of promoting and embracing work life balance in the work place.
