IEI Steps to Engineering Final fast approaching In early april, Primary Schools from throughout Ireland submitted their final projects for this year's Xperience Engineering programme. The standard of all the projects are exceptional, making the decision to select the top 40 finalists extremely difficult. This year's National Final is taking place on the 18th of June in The Helix, DCU. The winners in each category will be crowned the Junior or Senior Engineering Class of Ireland. Science Engineering Camp at UL 22nd - 25th June 2009 Experience University Campus life while learning about science and engineering in a full interactive action based programme. For more information and entry form: www.clareburrenmarathonchallenge. com Tel: 087 2691147 or 085 1741700 Going to the Extreme Extreme engineering Shows run by STEPS to engineering are back on the road once again, with back-to-back shows recently taking place in IT Carlow, Waterford IT and Tipperary Institute. The run of shows were a great success with more than 1,600 students attending from various schools in the institutes' catchments areas. The Extreme Engineering Shows never fail to deliver the fun side of engineering and science to students. After the show, June Farrell from Holy Family G.N.S, Askea, Co. Carlow, said, "It's an excellent show, including lots of activities and experiments the children would not be able to see in school". While Aingeal Uí Dhálaigh from Gaelscoil Eoghain Uí Thuairsc said, "The show was very absorbing! Delivery by Sue McGrath (scientist) was excellent! Lively and witty, holding the children's attention throughout." Further shows are scheduled to take place in May, with Trinity College and Engineers Ireland hosting shows on May 12th and 25th respectively.
