Sean Malone steps down from the Credit Union after 45 years A face familiar to many, Sean Malone, for 45 years associated with St. Patrick's Credit, has decided to call it a day. Sean's involvement with the Credit Union began back in 1964 when he was the 'cash collector' for Credit Union members in the Telecoms Division in Head Office. This was three years before deduction at source commenced. Over the years Sean has served as Treasurer/Manager (for 20 years) and of course for many years as President as well as other roles as a Director. In 1998 Sean retired from ESB on completion of 40 years service. He continued, however, to serve the Credit Union well and is known to members far and wide. Together with Joe Guerin, Sean has worked tirelessly with St. Patrick's Credit Union over many many years. He brought a wealth of experience to the various positions he held and his contribution is valued immensely. Having served with Sean on the Board of the Credit Union for a number of years I can appreciate what he and all the Directors did to ensure its success. Sean has decided that now is the time to pass the mantle on to different hands. He wishes his fellow directors and the management and staff of St. Patrick's well for the future, particularly in these current climes of economic uncertainty. He paid tribute to his fellow directors who have voyaged a steady course for the members through the years which finds St. Patrick's in a very healthy financial position today. He would like to thank the staff for all their help and support over many years and you, the members, for retaining him as a director. |
