Power Generation Management Forum Monday April 6th provided an opportunity for Power Generation senior Management to discuss a number of key issues for their business. At their Management Forum in Portlaoise the group focused on a number of key themes including the role Power Generation are playing in developing the Sustainability agenda, the progress the Business Unit has made to-date in the implementation of their Asset Strategy (the reshaping of the Power Generation portfolio) and the very challenging market conditions and the financial outlook for the business over the next number of years. In his address to the Forum, Chief Executive, Padraig McManus praised the work of Power Generation in meeting the challenges of working in a new trading environment, and outlined the challenges facing the company in the current economic climate. Executive Director, Pat O'Doherty, in his closing address to the meeting, spoke about the impact of the national and global economic climate on Power Generation, the need for Power Generation to continue to improve plant performance, and in particular to significantly reduce its overall cost base in order to ensure its continued success in an increasingly competitive and active market. |
