ESB Power Challenge 2006 Excerpts from the Winning Song by the Corby Power Team MY OLD MAN'S A MARSHAL (To the air of My Old Man the Dustman) We are the team from Corby, and we've a song to sing, about those unsung heroes who don the yellow bib. They're called the Cappananlea, and no matter what you think, the marshals they don’t earn much, they just do it for the drink! Gerry Whelan is head marshal, air horn by his side, he'll find you on your mobile phone wherever you may hide. With stopwatch at the ready, he's always on your back, he's up early in the morning, to hide the power pack! Alan Murphy takes the photos, box brownie 'round his neck. he'll always get a photograph of you if you get wet. He jumps out of the bushes, and he's ready with his flash, so in the dark, in Muckross Park, you dare not take a slash! Here's to the Cappananlea, let's give them all a cheer. thanks for the Power Challenge, we hope we're back next year. So next time you see a marshal, having a crafty fag, don't kick him in the bonus points they might not have you back! |
