"ESB High Lights" take part in Four Peaks Challenge

An ESB team will climb the highest mountain in each of the four provinces of Ireland in the space of one weekend to raise money for Focus Ireland.

This year's Four Peaks Challenge will take place between the 9th-11th of June, when the "ESB High Lights" will travel over 800 miles around Ireland and climb Carrauntoohil (Kerry), Mweelrea (Mayo), Slieve Donard (Down), and Lugnaquilla (Wicklow) in just 3 days.

The annual challenge is organised by Focus Ireland to raise funds to tackle the problems of homelessness in Ireland. Focus Ireland is one of the largest voluntary organisations working with the homeless in Dublin, Limerick and Waterford. Over 60 teams took part in last year's challenge, raising over €483,000.

The ESB High Lights need to raise a minimum of €4000 sponsorship to take part in the challenge and are hoping that their ESB colleagues will support them as generously as they did last year, when they raised over €10,000 to combat homelessness.

A number of fund-raising events are planned prior to the Challenge, including a book, DVD and CD sale in Head Office 14th May 2006. If you would like to contribute to the ESB Team's fundraising efforts, you can donate books, CDs or DVDs, or sponsor them online simply and securely by credit card via the Focus Ireland Website: https://www.focusireland.ie/htm/h ow_you_can_help/fundraising/fou rpeaks/system.php?action=showP age&tid=84.

Alternatively you can contact one of the team members directly (contact details below). All sponsorship & funds raised go directly to Focus Ireland.

More information about Focus Ireland & the Four Peaks Challenge is available at www.focusireland.ie.

Thank you for your support.
