Portarlington book raises cash for Meals on Wheels

Publication of "Portarlington Generating Station 1946-1988" (A Pictorial History)

At the recent launch of the publication 'Portarlington Generating Station 1946 - 1988' it was announced that there would be no charge for the book but instead an optional donation could be made to Portarlington Social Services (Meals on Wheels) was suggested.

Monies collected on the night amounted to €1,506.83, which included a donation presented by Stevie Allen on behalf of a former Rhode fund. A cheque was presented to Phil Butler, Chairperson of Portarlington Social Services. The total amount overall collected amounted to €4,200. The book committee would like to thank ESB funding the project and all the people who supported them along the way.
