Health and Retirement presentation for Lanesboro group

Dr. Ina Kelly treated a very well-attended February meeting to an excellent presentation on "Health in Retirement." The group is very grateful to Dr. Kelly for taking the time, despite her very busy schedule, to make this presentation.

Following some light refreshments, the monthly meeting was held, at which it was decided to have an outing to Longford Bowling centre. J.J. Fallon, to whom we are very grateful, organized this outing.

At the March meeting, there was a presentation by Sgt. Larry Shine, crime prevention officer for Roscommon/East Galway on "Crime Prevention in The Home". This was followed by the AGM of the Association. Committee elected was Chairman Jim Finn, Secretary Des Watts, Treasurer Brendan Whitty and committee members Denis Dunne and Michael Carroll.

An Evening at the Roscommon Races
It was decided that the group will have an Evening at the Roscommon Races, which will be subsidised for members. The evening will be Monday 10th July and will include meal, entry fee and racecard at €15 per head (normal cost €30). Anybody interested in attending should give their name to Brendan Whitty, 043-21357. More details will be communicated in the June issue of EM.
