Retirement Presentation to Michael Gavin, Manager, HR & Training, Shared Services

After thirty-six years of dedicated service to ESB, Michael Gavin, Manager, HR & Training, Shared Services, retired recently. A warm welcome was extended to Michael, his wife Mary, son David, and daughter Emer by Brid Horan, Executive Director, Customer Supply & Group Services, at a presentation held in The Waterloo, Baggot Street, where Michael’s colleagues and friends gathered to mark the occasion.

Recounting Michael’s personal contribution to ESB in his various roles in Limerick, Waterford and in Head Office, Brid highlighted his strong commitment to ESB’s customers – both external and internal. She paid tribute to his many achievements in the IT and HR areas, where he played a key role in leading and implementing change over the years. In doing so, she drew particular attention to Michael’s quietly assertive management style, his strategic thinking and ability to “think outside the box” and his supportive approach to both staff and colleagues.

A passionate supporter of rugby and Gaelic football, particularly when Tyrone is playing, as well as a recent convert to golf, Michael will, no doubt, have plenty to occupy his time in retirement. We wish Michael, his wife Mary and family many years of health, happiness and fulfilment.
