ElectricAid Days

It's two full years since ElectricAid's last major push for new members. In November 2005, our Recruitment Week produced about 250 new members. We need to do this again!

ElectricAid has grown rapidly in recent times. We have got great growth in ESB support, tax rebate income and once-off donations. Our membership has also grown steadily - but at a slower rate.

We are now involved in more projects, more complex projects, and in new relations with donors such as the Williams family and Irish Aid. But we are, and will remain, a membership-based organisation, owned and driven by ESB staff and pensioner members. To maintain this character, we need to continue to expand our membership base.

Look out for ElectricAid Days events all over ESB in the week of November 19th to 23rd. We hope to see breakfast meetings, sign-up stands, guest speakers, coffee mornings, jersey days and other fun events which will raise awareness, raise some money, but most importantly, inspire more ESB people to join us in this great work.

The potential for more growth is definitely there. About 2,550 of you are contributing members of ElectricAid. This is a fantastic figure - and a testament to the open hearts of ESB people. Don't forget, however, that there are still nearly 6,000 ESB staff who are not yet members - and a similar number of retired staff.

We need to reach out to these friends and colleagues. We will be doing just that during ElectricAid Days, November 19th to 23rd. See you around.
