Cúl Green project team wins Green IT Award ESB's ICT Group are celebrating the winning of a Green IT Award at the Inspired IT Awards in Dublin's Mansion House on Thursday, October 9th. John Redmond, ESB Company Secretary and Head of Corporate Affairs, was present to receive the award, with CIO Peter O'Shea, Michael Fox of the ICT Group and project team members from ESBI, ESB Corporate Centre and GAA/Croke Park. The award recognises the Cúl Green project as innovative, inspirational and highly relevant to current environmental initiatives in government and the private domain. It also recognises ESB's commitment, as sponsor of Cúl Green, to educate and encourage individuals to make a real difference in reducing the nation's carbon footprint. The awards were hosted by iReach and the opening speech was made by Minister of State at the Department of Communications, Sean Power TD.Further details of the 2008 In-spired IT Awards can be found at www.inspiredawards.com. The Cúl Green website has been live for two months now and already nearly 10,000 pledges have been made on it, amount-ing to over 1,100 tonnes of carbon saved annually. |
