The ElectricAid November fast

All over ESB, and all over the country, more than 100 friends and supporters will complete a 24-hour sponsored fast for ElectricAid. They will go without food and drink (only water is allowed) for a full day in the week beginning Monday November 10th – in solidarity with the hungry, and to raise badly-needed funds for ElectricAid.

Fasting has a special resonance with the problems of food insecurity, drought, famine, and hunger which ElectricAid confronts every day. These problems are worsened by political and financial instability, rising oil prices, and climate change. We hope to raise €25,000 from this initiative – and we need every penny, as requests for funding have outstripped our financial resources. We are now refusing many excellent, life-saving proposals, simply because we have not got the funds.
