Bob Kelly
retires After almost 47 years in ESB/ESBI, Bob Kelly celebrated his retirement recently with a large gathering which included family, friends and colleagues. Following his initial apprenticeship in Mullingar his aptitude for design saw him move to the central Drawing Office and later Transmission Dept. In 1979 he was appointed to the first of the consultancy projects in Bahrain. In conjunction with a small group he blazed a trail in an area of work that was new to ESB but the success of this early work is reflected in the fact that 25 years later ESBI continues to operate there. More recently Bob has become synonymous with the 'Dublin GIS Stations' which are the first turnkey projects undertaken by ESB and follow a similar model to that used on our overseas projects. Bob and his team have worked with ESB Networks to deliver a range of substations. As well as his commitment and contribution to both ESB and ESBI, Bob will be remembered for his unfailing willingness to help others. We wish Bob, his wife Eileen, daughters Roberta and Karen and sons Simon and John well into the future. |
