Marchwood visit to Coolkeeragh plant

Construction on ESBI's latest 840 megawatt power plant at Marchwood near Southampton in the UK is just underway. As part of our commitment to maintaining strong links with the local community, members of the Marchwood Working Group recently paid a visit to our Coolkeeragh station in Northern Ireland.

During the day long visit, our guests were given presentations on Coolkeeragh's construction and operation, toured the plant and met with local representatives from Derry City Council who outlined the station's economic and social contribution to the local community.

Impressions of the visit to Coolkeeragh were positive and Cllr Alan Shotter from Marchwood Parish Council commented, "I was pleasantly surprised at the look of the Coolkeeragh plant and impressed at the lack of noise outside. Overall, once construction of Marchwood Power has been completed the effect on Marchwood village and visual impact will be negligible."
