Customer Supply success at NISO Safety Awards 2006

ESB Customer Supply received a major safety award at the annual NISO (National Irish Safety Organisation) presentation dinner in Galway on Friday 13th October.

The award was in recognition of the Safety Management System in Customer Supply and it was their first time to enter this particular competition. The submission, which was lauded by the various judges, was prepared by Catheriona Marron, ESB Customer Supply Health & Safety Co-Ordinator, with support from Ronan Collier, Safety Manager, and Bob Gibbs, Chairman of the ESB Customer Supply Safety Committee.

The Customer Supply safety committee were well represented on the night and were delighted to receive this award. It's a highly commended award, judged very rigorously and based on an organisation demonstrating the existence of a Safety Management System tailored to the specific needs of the organisation. In winning the award Customer Supply had to provide substantial documentary evidence that they have excellent systems in place for the continuous review and improvement of their safety systems and processes.

On receiving the award, General Manger, Ollie Brogan commented, "Safety is an absolute priority within ESB Customer Supply. This award will ensure we drive the safety agenda with renewed enthusiasm. We acknowledge the contribution of all our staff in winning this prestigious award."
