A LIFE in the week - Andrea Purcell
Job Title: IT Project Manager
What do you like most about
your job?
I love the fact that I get to
go into lots of different areas of ESB
to work on projects. This gives me
the opportunity to learn how the
various business units operate, as
well as meeting people with very
different roles to my own.
If you weren’t in your current job
what would you be doing?
Planning a wedding, there is just so
much involved! Mind you if I had
started before now it might not seem
like there was so much to do in just
three months.
Personal ambition?
To visit Graceland.
If you had a choice of another
career what would it be?
I would love to be an interior
designer. I enjoy designing and
redecorating rooms and houses,
especially when it’s with someone
else’s budget.
What person has influenced you
most?
I wouldn’t say there is one
person. Different people influence
you in different ways at different
stages in life.
What upsets you most?
Everyone
is always so busy these days. You
don’t get to spend as much time
with family and friends as you’d like.
What is your favourite journey
and why?
The commute home to
Athy every evening – even if it does
mean using Irish Rail. It’s just great
to get away from the city and back to
the country.
How do you chill out?
We recently
got a Nintendo WII in our house, so I
am trying to improve my bowling
and tennis skills.
Which four people, past or
present, would you invite to
dinner?
Elvis Presley –I am dragging
my husband-to-be to Graceland on
our honeymoon. I’d love the
opportunity to ask Bono why he
seems more concerned with fixing
the poverty problems outside Ireland
rather than here at home. It would
be great to hear Michael O’Leary’s
business plan for Irish Rail. And I’d
love to just talk to Tamara Mellon
about shoes. |
