Val Lynch celebrates launch of book on Clontarf

Sixty-nine year old retired staff member Val
(Patrick) Lynch is celebrating the publication of
his first book. Val was a member of staff in Finglas
working in the Administration/Service area. He retired in 1984.

The book is based on the Clontarf area of Dublin, which is where Val was born and where the family originated. He has always maintained a keen
interest in the locality. Amid blood sweat and tears, according to Val, he launched the book recently in ‘The Sheds’ in Clontarf. The first batch sold out within three weeks. As well as writing, Val is a taxidermist and does some wood carving.

No Throughfare On The Tram Road, a history of Clontarf and its Environs. Clontarf / Cluain Tarbh-
Meadow of the bull is situated on Dublin City’s north-east coast. It is an area steeped in history, folklore and legend.

Among its many attributes is the impressive promenade that stretches all the way from the
railway bridge in Fairview to the entrance at Bull Wall and Island.

Val Lynch gives us an insight into the area and people of Clontarf. At a mere €20 this book is a must have.

If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the book you can contact Val at 041 9828679.
