New Board Member, Garry Keegan

The ESB board of Directors has recently welcomed new member Garry Keegan. Mr Keegan, who was appointed to the ESB Board in June, is a Director of Acumen, a company specialising in the provision of public consultation services for urban design and infrastructural projects.

Educated at University College Dublin and Trinity College, as well as the Irish and British Marketing Institutes, Mr Keegan spent six years as a Dublin City Councillor between 2000 and 2006. He was also a candidate in the Seanad elections of 2002.

Previously, he has served as a board member of a number of organisations, including: Temple Bar Properties, Dublin City Enterprise Board, Hugh Lane Gallery, St. James's, Hume St. and Holles St. hospitals. He also served as a Council Member on the Dublin Docklands Development Authority.

In May 2007 he was appointed as a member of Expert Group on Future Skills Needs by the Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

A native of Cavan, Mr Keegan now lives in Dublin with his wife Fiona. His appointment to the board of ESB is for a five year term.
