Alan Gallagher Awards launched by ESB Credit Union St. Patrick's credit Union has recently launched an educational support package for members. These educational awards also commemorate Alan Gallagher, son of Brendan and Joan Gallagher, who between them have given a lifetime of service to St. Patrick's Credit Union. Tragically, Alan died trying to rescue a friend. At the time he was pursuing third level education and your credit union has introduced these awards in Alan's honour. In launching the award, George O'Driscoll, President of St. Patrick's Credit Union was keen to emphasise the role of credit unions in improving the social and economic wellbeing of members and recognising the value of their contribution to the community, in this case ESB. "The awards are not about charity or welfare but they are about enhancing members' lives and providing opportunities," he said. |
