Networks Ladies (Finglas) win Football title

The ladies footballers of Networks (Finglas), ESBI and National Grid played out a Round Robin series with ESBI and Networks Finglas contesting the Final.

An outstanding display of football from Mary Keheo of Networks Finglas guaranteed her side the victory by a margin of two goals and seven points to one goal and five points.

All three participating teams produced exciting matches in ideal weather conditions at a splendid facility in Páirc úi Chiaráin Athlone on Saturday 17th September last.

The presentation dinner was held in the newly refurbished Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone where the finalists received their magnificent trophies from Sean Lowry, HR Manager Midland Stations, himself a former All-Ireland winner with Offaly and Colum Grogan Secretary ESB GAA. ESB GAA President Paddy Stapleton was unable to attend.

The Player of the Tournament Award was presented by Freida Murray Manager Equal Opportunities ESB to Mary Keheo (Networs Finglas). Sean paid tribute to all participants and paid special thanks to the organising committee, Colum Grogan, John O'Riordan, Hugh Connaughton, Christy Goulding, Pat Maleady and Tony Heavin.

Networks Fingals - Claire O'Sullivan, Cassandra Ryan, Mary Keheo, Shauna Brady, Niamh O'Sullivan, Cathy O'Sullivan, Maura Cuddihy and Carmel Hanrahan.

ESBI: Deirdre Newell, Lesley Murphy, Eileen O'Shea, Eileen Cleary, Nuala Carr, Claire Looney, Martina Kenny, Niamh Holmes, Cera Slevin, Karen White, Deirdre Arthur, and Geraldine O'Sullivan.

National Grid: Emma Fagan, Geraldine McGovern, Laura M Walsh, Niamh Delaney, Orla Thunder, Edel Campbell, Jane McArdle, Catherine McCormick, Lisa Corrigan and Virginia Camacho.
