Strategic Alliance with Health and Safety Authority forges ahead

At the National Ploughing Championships (27th-29th September) in Co.Cork, Jerry O'Sullivan took the opportunity to visit the HSA Stand and is pictured (below) with HSA officials, Maura Kavanagh, Pauline Chatham and Pat Griffin.

Earlier in 2005, a strategic alliance between ESB and the Health and Safety Authority was agreed and launched. This is a 3 year alliance targeting the agricultural and construction sectors which will support the common objective of both organisations to improve safety performance and eliminate injuries.

The strategic alliance aims to promote best health and safety practice in the agricultural sector for those working in close proximity to ESB Networks' electricity infrastructure. A recent initiative has been the joint branding by HSA and ESB Networks of new press Safety ads aimed at the farming community, one featuring a grain harvester and the other a silage harvester. Cobranding is also a feature of the Farm TV Safety commercial which runs regularly at all agricultural marts throughout the country.

Later this month, a jointly hosted seminar aimed primarily at the construction sector is due to take place in the Springfield Hotel, Lucan, as one of the events of European Safety Week.
