Board members visit Turlough Hill

A number of members of the Board of ESB paid a visit to Turlough Hill in recent weeks to see the new Hydro Control Centre which is located at the pumped storage station in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains close to Glendalough. The HCC which remotely controls ESB's other hydro stations is up and running for over a year and has been enabled by state of the art technology which was demonstrated to the visitors by the Operations Staff at the plant. The Board Members were welcomed by Pat O'Doherty, newly appointed General Manager, Power Generation, Pat Naughton, Hydro Manager and John McManus, Plant Manager Turlough Hill stations. They also took the opportunity to view the upper reservoir and take in a tour of the station which was facilitated by Austin Gilroy.
