		CIO Organisation - team now in place Following a review of the organisation of IT and Telecommunications within ESB, the Chief Executive and EDT approved the establishment of the CIO Organisation comprising Group IS functions and those of IT Solutions and Telecoms. The CIO Organisation has dual responsibilities. On the one hand, it is responsible for the strategic management of IT and Telecommunications within ESB in collaboration with Business Units, while on the other hand it is responsible for the delivery to Business Units of IT and Telecommunications services. The new Chief Information Officer, Peter O'Shea, took up the role in July and together with the senior management team is focussed on the development of the CIO Business Plan and Strategy. Since their appointment Peter O'Shea and his team have met with all staff in the CIO Organisation to brief them on the new organisation and strategy.
