Leixlip - The Pride of the Hydro Region

Leixlip power Station is a hydro station on the river Liffey and is part of the Turlough Hill group of power stations. The station was inspected by Mr. Frank Scott as part of the Tidy Stations competition of 2005. For the first time in the history of the competition and due to the extreme tidiness of the station, there were no suggestions made for improvement on the final report for 2005. This extraordinary result is down to the efforts of one man, Mick Cross, who looks after the day-to-day running of the station on his own.

To acknowledge Mick's achievement the station was visited by Pat O'Doherty, Executive Director, Power Generation, John McManus, Production Manager, Turlough Hill, Eamonn Murray, General Services Supervisor and Frank Scott, Tidy Stations judge.
