Ardnacrusha's Pat Kelly retires After almost 46 years Service Pat Kelly, Ardnacrusha retired recently. Pat started his ESB career in Ardnacrusha as an apprentice electrician and subsequently moved to Dublin to work in Test and Commissioning. During this period he built up many lasting relationships with staff throughout the country. He returned to Ardnacrusha to work in the Hydro Region where he worked under Finbarr O'Shea and Cyril O'Dowd. When the Hydro Region was amalgamated with Peat, Pat joined the Chief Civil Engineer's Business Unit where he has worked for the last 15 years with recently retired Chief Civil Engineer Jack O'Keeffe and his predecessor the late Martin Quinn. During his time in Ardnacrusha Pat was always available to lend a helping hand wherever required. He was well known and respected in the various Power Stations and Fisheries. His twin brother Bill was a draughtsman in Ardnacrusha and until Bill's retirement some time ago the 'Kelly twins' were a well known and respected pair! One of the events hosted to mark Pat's retirement was a celebration by Fisheries Conservation staff held in Parteen Hatchery to mark Pat's retirement. Many colleagues from throughout the company attended to wish him the best. Pat intends to devote more time to his beautiful garden. He will be missed by his many friends who wish him a long, healthy and happy retirement with his wife Mary and children David and Jane |
