Power Generation charity donation The bubblegum club was set up in 1994, to look after children with life threatening illnesses and children in crisis. Life is to be enjoyed, experienced and lived to the full, but these children generally have a shorter time to do so than the rest of us. For that reason, the club tries to pack in as much fun as possible for the children. All children on trips organised by the club are treated equally. They are not allowed to bring pocket money, as socioeconomic issues could create huge and unwanted differences between individual children. The Bubblegum Club will always supply each child with the same amount of pocket money. When seriously ill children are taken away on trips, it is also a great break from parents from the 24 hour attention that these children require. This welcome and badly needed breathing space from the huge commitment of caring. It gives the carers a chance to recharge their energies and live a little themselves. Often there are other family members who need time and attention themselves. ESB Power Generation is glad, through this presentation, to acknowledge the tremendous work carried out by this organisation. If anyone wishes to find out more about the club, they can be contacted at their website www.thebubblegumclub.com |
