Young ESB talents awarded ESB was well represented at the Awards Ceremony for the recent Irish Centre for Talented Youth AIB Essay Competition on 'Global Warming'. 11 year old Kieran McNamara took first prize in the Junior Technical Category winning an iPod Nano and €300 towards further CTYI courses. Kieran is son of Fergal McNamara, Regulatory Affairs and Paula Carey in Power Generation. Maeve O'Dwyer, daughter of Dave O'Dwyer in Corporate Centre, was runner-up in the Senior News Category. The programme, runs in DCU for young people in ages ranging approximately from eight to 17. It covers a wide range of courses including Law, Science, History, Forensic Science, Debating and Journalism. Entry is by examination and both Kieran's and Maeve's parents are high in their praise of the courses and the benefits reaped by young people from taking part. |
