ESB Moneypoint support this year's STEPS to engineering K'NEX challenge Management at ESB Moneypoint regularly engage with schools in County Clare providing valuable education to the students on such topics as: electrical safety, environmental friendliness and engineering awareness. This year, Moneypoint continued their commitment to education in the county and encouraged a team of engineers to visit Clare schools to help with the STEPS to engineering K'NEX Challenge. Volunteers from the plant included: Michael Edwards- Murphy, John Casey, Richard Beattie, Darragh Duhy Chris Kearns, Margaret Browne and Ciarn McManus. Together they spread the engineering message by visiting nine local schools. Moneypoint also sponsored the second stage of the competition, the County Clare Regional Final, by awarding the winning school with an all-expenses paid trip to the power plant. Bernadine Moloney, ESB Moneypoint Manager said, "ESB Moneypoint was very pleased to sponsor the STEPS to engineering Clare K'NEX Regional Final. We are delighted to be associated with STEPS to engineering and to help increase the awareness of engineering in our community." STEPS to engineering aims to encourage primary and post primary students to explore the world of science and engineering and to raise awareness about engineering as a careers choice.
