Repeating an action in Microsoft Applications

The F4 keyboard button will always repeat your last action in MSWord, MSExcel and MSPowerpoint. E.G. if you are working in a Word document and need to underline certain words on various pages. Select the first word and carry out the format as you would normally using the underline tool on the formatting toolbar i.e.

E.g. In this example the word ‘service’ is to be underlined. It is already selected so, you just have to click on the underline button. Now just proceed to the next word, sentence or paragraph and make your selection. Then press the F4 key and the underline action will be repeated. This function will repeat much more that just formats. Try inserting rows or columns in an excel worksheet for instance.
